DaVinci Resolve 11.2

DaVinci Resolve version 11.2 is now available for download, a new update that comes with improved processing for CinemaDNG RAW and DPX images, as well as additional support for different workflows.

CinemaDNG RAW

As we have just said, the processing of these images has been renewed, improving the color space transformations when decoding the RAW for both Rec. 709 and P3.

In addition, new soft clip options have been added to convert HDR (High Dynamic Range) CinemaDNG files to the Rec color space. 709. The transformation that is performed uses new algorithms that are designed to retain more color detail and minimize clipping.

Integration with Media Composer

Blackmagic Design has also worked on roundtripping with Avid systems. Thanks to support for the DNxHR codec, we will be able to move high-resolution material between the two software.

AAF import and export has been improved, allowing integration with Media Composer 8.3 and the timeline resolution to be set on import.

DPX 2.0

An additional feature is the ability to select the RGB pixel order when working with DPX 2.0 files (so that the channels are not inverted).

Other new developments

  • Support for markers in the ColorTrace tool.
  • Option to disable caching in the Edit and Color windows.
  • RED SDK 5.3 support
