Isilon’ s scale-out NAS platform is coming to the cloud, thanks to a new partnership between Dell EMC and Google Cloud.

Isilon Cloud

Announced at Dell Technologies World last week, Isilon Cloud for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) will, the company said, provide dedicated Isilon infrastructure with secure, sub-millisecond latency network access to GCP Compute Engine clusters.

According to Dell EMC, the offering will enable customers to use the public cloud while still controlling all of their data, with performance similar to on-premises storage systems. The company said cloud-based deployments will use dedicated Isilon hardware and networking to meet data security and compliance requirements in shared storage environments.

Dell EMC added that it will provide 24-hour monitoring, maintenance and support, with additional analytical and computational services available through GCP.

Customers will be able to apply for inclusion in an early access program, as Isilon Cloud for GCP is being implemented by making contact with Dell EMC representative. At this time, a timeline for general availability of the platform has not been announced and pricing has not been disclosed.
