Last week we showed you some clips from the VariCam 35 using the two native ISOs available on the camera. Today, we continue with the same model but giving way to another of its qualities, the possibility of capturing the “normal” file in high and a proxy with a color correction included.
As you will see, inside the folder you download there will be three other subfolders. The first one is called “Color Files” and contains the metadata of the color modifications within a LUT and a CDL. The second subfolder is called “Main Card” and contains the original camera files in high. And finally, the third one is called “Sub Card” and contains the proxy files with the color correction applied.
The files we would use as raw are recorded with a resolution of 4096 x 2160 at 16bit color depth, while those we would use for editing (proxies) have a resolution of 2048 x 1080 and are at 10bit. The only thing they share is the MXF XAVC format and the speed of 24fps.
