DPA invites us to new surround sound with 4560 CORE binaural headphones

DPA has launched a new binaural 4560 CORE binaural headphones capable of recording surround sound. What at first glance looks like an ordinary headphone, is actually much more. It is a new system for recording sound from the user’s own perspective to achieve 3D surround sound.

Other systems similar to DPA’s already exist, but what makes this headset special is the qualityof the microphones and the way they are positioned, which is more discreet than in most cases. A microphone is placed in each ear, picking up exactly what the user is listening to in real time and from both sides. This is especially intended for those who listen to the content also through headphones and really feel the immersive sound that is produced.

The quality is achieved thanks to the two 4560 CORE microphones that the DPA brand has developed for these headphones. Their size allows them to be placed just outside the ear so that they do not interfere with any friction during recording. They also have ear pads to reduce wind noise. In addition, the headband on which the microphones are attached is fully moldable to fit the user’s head.

The headphones can be connected to an external recording system, in this case the DPA MMA-A, which is compatible with several devices. It is a system that is increasingly used in more productions as a complement to the audio recordings of environments to give that subjective point of view and so close to the experience of the character in this case. Used in music recordings, theaters, environments for video games… it offers endless possibilities for 860 euros.
