FilmConvert updates its Premiere plugin

FilmConvert has updated its film emulation plug-in for Adobe Premiere.

The first thing to note is the improvement in the rendering engine, which can now use hardware acceleration through a graphics card (GPU). This will speed up work considerably and achieve real time in Premiere Pro with HD material.

The standalone FilmConvert application had some color correction features that have been included in the Adobe plug-in. These include the “3-Way Color Corrector”, a saturation slider and a level graph. In addition, automatic functions of all parameters can be performed using keyframe automation.

Finally, support for the Sony FS700 has been added, joining the list of more than 20 supported cameras. As this list expands month by month, color accuracy is improved by downloading free data packs for supported cameras.

This update is free for registered FilmConvert users and can be downloaded from here (along with the trial versions).

FilmConvert is not only available as a standalone application or for Premiere, but also has plugins for After Effects, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro (7 and X), Motion and Sony Vegas. It features 19 film types and the ability to add grain that has been scanned at 6K.
