Filmic Pro, logarithmic recording on cell phones

A few days ago the latest version of Filmic Pro was released, a mobile app that considerably expands the recording options, allowing much more control over the camera than standard applications allow.

Among other features, Filmic Pro increases data rates, which can reach up to 100Mbps, and enables manual adjustment of white balance, focus, shutter angle and ISO. In addition, automatic gain control for audio can be disabled.

Another advantage is support for different aspect ratios and various speeds, including 24fps.

Filmic Pro comes with three new recording modes:

• Completely manual.
• Focus and exposure by dragging and dropping.
• Hybrid mode that allows the selection of a customized combination.

Now, with version 6, Log Gamma recording is added, although this mode can only be enabled with the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus, and is also an additional (paid) feature of the app.

During the last few days the new version of Film Convert has also been released, with support for Filmic Pro. This software will be a great help to start working with color if you are not used to do it manually.

The application costs $14.99, and an additional $9.99 if you want it with the logarithmic recording option.
