Fujifilm has presented its new X-Pro 3 mirrorless camera that pays homage to classic photographers. Fujifilm has reinvented one of its legendary models without losing the essence of classic photography, reminding us of the rangefinders that used to be used.
It has a back-illuminated X-Trans TM CMOS 4 APS-C sensor 23.5mm x 15.6mm in size and 26.1 megapixels in resolution. The image processor is inherited from its two older Fujifilm X-3 and X-T30 models and is the X-Processor 4 image processor. With the new firmware installed in the camera, phase detection autofocus at -6EV luminance has been included.
One of the gems of the Fujifilm X-Pro 3 model is undoubtedly its hidden monitor that gives it that even more analog look. To access the viewfinder, the hinge at the bottom of the camera body must be folded out, otherwise the monitor is completely hidden to avoid distractions during shooting.
The camera’s viewfinder has also been improved by being able to reproduce up to 97% of the colors of the sRGB space. It is a high-end hybrid viewfinder with 3.69 million dots. Users can switch between the optical viewfinder (OVF) or the electronic viewfinder for viewing the exposure of the photograph (EVF). When using the EVF we can access the Smoothing Priority mode, which eliminates the residual image in photographs of fast-moving subjects.
With more nods to analog photography, the Fujifilm X-Pro 3 includes different image styles that simulate the different types of film, so you don’t have to develop in RAW and can work directly with .jpg files.
It will go on sale at the end of November in 3 different models but all with titanium coating and DuratectTM technology to make it more robust but not heavy.
