Fujifilm launches new GF30mm F3.5 lens for medium format cameras

Fujifilm launches its new Fujinon GF30mm F3.5 R WR lens for GFX medium format G-mount cameras. With a focal length of 30mm, the wide-angle lens is equivalent to 24mm in 35mm. The Fujinon GF30mm F3.5 R WR is primarily intended for landscapes, architecture…whether in photography or video.

The lens is composed of 13 elements arranged in 10 groups, including two extra-low dispersion elements that prevent chromatic aberrations. The diaphragm has been designed with nine blades to achieve apertures between F3.5 and F32 and smooth bokeh. It has an aperture ring for manual or automatic control, depending on the “command” position, which allows us to switch between the 2 options. A wide angle lens with a minimum focusing distance of 32cm.

It is a lightweight lens, designed to take anywhere with a weight of 51o grams. The diameter is 84mm and the filter thread is 58mm.

Fujifilm continues to focus on the GF range of lenses for medium format cameras now that the latest software updates in Japanese cameras allow RAW video recording. Another advantage to opt for the GF30mm F3.5 R WR is the quality of the internal focusing system it has. Thanks to this system, the lens is prevented from breathing when changing the focus, just 0.05% and silently.

Not yet released to the market, it is scheduled to arrive at major distributors by the end of this July and the price will be approximately €1799.
