Noise Industries has updated its visual effects platform FxFactory to version 4.0. The big news is that for the first time FxFactory is available for Premiere Pro CS6, Adobe’s editing system.
This change will be important, as many users who previously used Final Cut Pro 7 as their primary editing tool, with the arrival of Final Cut X and the changes in the CS6 version, are now switching to Premiere.
This is the second Adobe system that supports the plug-in platform, along with Adobe After Effects; but we can also use it with Final Cut Pro (7 and X) and Motion, both from Apple. Even so, it should be noted that not all of its products work in all software, but some can only be used in Final Cut Pro X.
Here is an introduction to FxFactory 4.0:
And this is a presentation of how it works on Premiere Pro:
FxFactory works with some plugins that you don’t have to pay for, that is, they are free, but most of them belong to third parties and therefore you have to buy them (you can do it from the FxFactory Store). Among them we can find plugins for video styling and looks, color correction, image animation, titling and even s3D.
Some of these plugins bring new versions or improvements to existing ones:
Photo Montage
Version 4.0 includes an update to Photo Montage, a plugin that generates slideshows with photos. It is as simple as choosing the images and the animation style (there are 20 different ones). In addition, once chosen we can change their duration or order very easily and add keyframes if we want, although the latter is optional.
It is compatible with Final Cut Pro, Motion, After Effects and Premiere Pro.
This is a Photo Montage tutorial on Premiere Pro:
The Photo Montage upgrade is free for users who already have a previous one, and for those who don’t, it is priced at $199.
Motype 1.3
Motype is a title generator that in version 1.3 has added support for Final Cut Pro X and Premiere Pro (previously it worked with Motion, After Effects and FCP 7). Features for text animation include particles, blur or motion creation without the need to add keyframes.
This is a brief demonstration of this Yanobox plugin:
Motype version 1.3 is also free for those who already have a previous one. A new license costs $99.
Callouts 1.3
This is the latest version of the Ripple Training plug-in (only available for FCP X) that allows you to create animations with arrows and different shapes and figures. Two new effects have now been added to its collection: Connect-Direct, which creates an animated straight line between two points; and Callout-Square, which creates an animated rectangle and a drawn line.
PHYX Cleaner
PHYX Cleaner version 2.0 has been included for image reconstruction, enhancement and noise reduction.
Split Animator 1.1
Another plug-in, from Tokyo, which is only available for Final Cut Pro X. Creates split screens and adds zoom animations, rotations, etc.
FxFactory Pro
It offers more than 170 visual effects including filters, transitions and generators. It is now available for Premiere Pro and includes a new timecode generator and enhancements to existing effects. In addition, integration with Final Cut X has also been improved.
This collection of effects costs $399.
Free plugins
In addition, some free plugins have been updated to work within FCP X and Premiere.
– Pan and Zoomto create animations with photos.
– Manifestowhich allows you to make static titles and rollers.
– CoverFluxa slideshow generator.
Finally, here’s a video tutorial on FxFactory transitions in Premiere Pro, which work a little differently from other software:
This update (4.0) of FxFactory is completely free for users who already have the purchased version. You can also get a free version (from here) which includes some license-free plugins and demos of all the others.
