GenArts Sapphire 7.07

A few days ago GenArts released version 7.07 of Sapphire, its collection of plugins for creating effects and transitions.

Although this is a small update, the company has announced that version 8 will arrive in December with major changes.

Most notable is the revamped Mac installer, which improves support for the Mavericks operating system. It is also important for Linux users to update their Nvidia drivers, as CUDA 6 has been supported to remedy bugs that occurred with DaVinci Resolve.

These are the effects that have been improved:

• FilmDamage: fixed bug with “Stains Color1” setting.

• FlareDesigner: fixed element positioning when editing flares.

• SwishPan and Swish3D: improved preview in the “Preset Browser”.

Sapphire includes about 250 presets that can be adjusted to create custom styles, controlling the image processing and being able to obtain (depending on the hardware configuration) high rendering speeds. It is compatible with systems such as Nuke, DaVinci Resolve, Fusion, Scratch, Avid, After Effects and all those that support OFX plugins.
