Hasselblad has released a new update for its X1D II 50C and 907X cameras, version 1.4.0. version 1.4.0. This new firmware update includes an improved interval timer and distance scale, among others.
This 1.4.0 version of the firmware introduces improvements that help users when shooting and make the shooting experience with X1D II 50C, 907X Special Edition and 907X 50C much better.
One of the updates has to do with the distance scale in Live View, something that Hasselblad users have been asking for. The new distance scale overlay allows you to keep track of the focus position being used at the moment and close range of the lens. This information is customizable, and to make it more global, it can be set in meters or feet. In addition to the 1.4.0 firmware update, the XCD 0.6.0 lens update is required except for the XCD 45P, which would be 0.1.26.
It includes an improvement that was not available until now, exposure metering for different frames. Whereas previously we could only set the exposure for the first photograph in a sequence of frames, it is now possible to set the exposure metering for each of the frames that make up the series of shots. This is interesting for sequences where there are light changes that require a change of exposure.
Continuing with the customization options, there are now more frame options in the Interval Timer, i.e. you can specify up to 1,000 frames with different numbering options such as between 2 and 25, intervals of 5 between 25 and 100 or intervals of 50…. Previously you could only choose up to 99 frames in the Interval Timer.
The live viewing quality of Phocus Mobile 2 has also been improved. All these improvements and some general system improvements make the user experience now much better and respond to the needs of the users’ own requests.
You can now download the new update for each of the models from the Hasselblad website.
