Lately many of the companies dedicated to audiovisual are focusing their efforts on renewing incorporating HDR technology to their equipment. Now, the online video platform Youtube, also takes the step and joins the wheel of high dynamic range.

HDR (High Dynamic Range), simplistically described, achieves higher levels of highlights and blacks, greatly improving the contrast and detail in these areas that we are used to seeing on today’s monitors and devices.

Now, Youtube has decided to incorporate the ability to upload this type of content to its website, which already supported videos in 4K and 360 degrees. However, we must not forget that to be able to view HDR it is necessary that we are prepared for it, for example with HDR TVs with Chromecast Ultra or compatible devices.

In this link you will find detailed instructions by Youtube to upload HDR videos. If you take a walk through the page you will see for example the necessary requirements for uploading (in the picture below), or even a series of steps to follow if you work in DaVinci Resolve.
