The Foundry has released a Beta version of its VFX conforming and management system, HIERO, for Windows operating systems.
HIERO 1.0 was released in early March for Mac OS X and Linux, and since its release it has received nothing but good reviews. It allows conforming (via EDL or XML), reviewing and exporting VFX shots. In addition, it is seamlessly integrated with NUKE and NUKEX compositing software, also from The Foundry, so you can import and playback any shot that has been treated in them.
It also allows working with other editing, VFX or finishing systems.
You can download and test this beta version for Windows here.
In addition to Windows support, The Foundry development team is also working to release new features in future versions of HIERO. These include the ability to do a 3:2 Pulldown (technique used to go from 24p to NTSC interlaced), and SDI output for monitoring.
They will also release HIERO Player, a playback tool that will allow viewing materials during the forming process from the HIERO timeline.
