Maxon has announced its intention to collaborate with Side Effects, a 3D animation and visual effects software developer, to create a plug-in that will give Cinema 4D users access to the Houdini engine.
This news comes just a few days after the Krakatoa plug-in was released in a new version for Cinema 4D R14 and R15.
“Houdini Enginewas introduced at SideFX Labs in 2013 and was designed to allow Houdini’s processing technology to work within other applications. Now, thanks to the collaboration between these two companies, users will be able to have direct access to Houdini’s digital assets and VFX tools with an integrated processing workflow.
This plugin for Cinema 4D is expected to expand the flexibility of both systems and facilitate the creation of creative content. It is expected to be available by the end of 2014.
