How to install Amira SUP version 1.0.11

Arri has released the new Software Update Packet (SUP) 1.0.11 for its Amira camera, which contains fixes for the major issues of version 1.0.

The company recommends installing this update immediately on all Amira models (Amira, Amira Advanced and Amira Premium). To do so, the first thing to do is to go to Arri’s download section and log in as registered users.

These are the steps to follow to install the update:

• Downloadand unzip the firmware package, which contains two files along with the update notes (.SUP and .lic).
• Prepare the USB disk by connecting it to the camera. Go to MENU > Media > Prepare USB medium and select Confirm.
• Connect the USB disk to the computer and place the .SUP file in the folder Arri > AMIRA > SUP.
• Then we put the .lic in the folder Arri > AMIRA > LICENSES
• Connect the USB disk back to the camera and navigate to Menu > System > Camera Update.
• Select the SUP file from the list and press Confirm to start the installation.
• When completed, a message will appear advising that the upgrade has been successfully completed.

In addition to the new firmware version, Arri has updated the simulator available on its website. The Navigator section has been added, allowing users to easily highlight the location of various controls displayed in the simulator. The camera controls and the multi-viewfinder/menu view have also been divided into their own sections in order to show more details.

In order to access the simulator you will simply have to go to the Tools page in Arri’s website.
