The Three Wise Men have also left us a few gifts from the American company HP, which on the 6th decided to present us with several new curved, 4K, 5K and even interactive monitors.
HP Z27s, HP Z24s and HP Z27q
These three models are probably the ones we are most interested in, since they are two screens with 4K and 5K resolution.
The company has decided to renew itself so that its users can enjoy the 4K material (or more) that is currently being generated in many productions. In addition, these models come with scaling technologies included to view higher resolutions or multiple images.
Its variety of connections (DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, Mini-DP, MHL and USB 3.0) allows us to plug in several devices at the same time; for example, we can have a cell phone, a laptop and a tablet connected to our monitor and display their contents simultaneously.
The first two, Z27s (at 27 inches diagonal) and Z24s (at 23.8 inches diagonal) have a resolution of 3840 x 2160 and feature a 16:9 panel, the sRGB or AdobeRGB (not Rec. 709) color spaces and 1.07 billion colors.
On the other hand, the Z27q model has a 5120 x 2880 display with 14.7 million pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio, 300 nits and 1.07 trillion colors. Regarding color spaces, HP has said that it includes a “wide color gamut” that we are not quite sure what it corresponds to yet.
The Z27s and Z24s will start shipping in January and April, respectively, and will cost about $749 and $549. The Z27q will have to wait until March and is expected to cost around $1299.
HP Zvr Virtual Reality Display
The company has announced it with the slogan “one step closer to holographic visualization”, as this monitor allows viewing, rotating, manipulating and navigating in real time through 3D content.
Its high-definition stereoscopic display measures 23.6 inches (diagonally) and is powered by HP’s zSpace technology.
In addition to working with virtual reality applications, the Zvr has an optional solution called zView that allows us to share 3D models to a large 2D display. Different workstations can also be connected via Dual-Link DVI or DisplayPort.
We do not yet know what price this display will have, but we do know that it will be launched in spring.
HP Z34c, HP ENVY 34c, HP EliteDisplay S270c and HP Pavilion 27c
And finally we have four curved monitors that provide an immersive experience thanks to their 178-degree field of view.
The Z34c and ENVY 34c models, whose number refers to their diagonal inches, feature a 21:9 aspect ratio and support up to 3440 x 1440. Their color space is sRGB, with 98% reliability, and they come with 6 watt/channel speakers with DTS audio.
They will be available in April for about $999.
The other two displays, EliteDisplay S270c and Pavilion 27c measure 27 inches, have Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and 16:9 aspect ratio. Their color space is sRGB, with 95% reliability, and they come with 4 watt/channel speakers with DTS audio.
You can find them right now for $399.
