Hybrik makes ProRes compatible with your platform

Increasingly, we are seeing more and more of our work moving to the cloud. There are a number of platforms and vendors that are focusing their efforts on making aspects of collaborative environments available online, in the cloud, so that production team members can work from any computer anywhere in the world.

This week Hybrik announced that its cloud-based media processing platform now supports encoding and decoding of the Apple ProRes codec. This approach allows transcoding ProRes content directly from Amazon AWS S3 storage without generating intermediate files. In addition, it is possible to perform quality control and speed up file transfer.

According to the company, this new capability was imperative because ProRes is one of the key components in the archiving and delivery of material.
