HYDROGEN the RED phone

RED will soon launch – shortly before summer – its HYDROGEN phone. Although there is still some time to go before the device is available, several features are already known.

HYDROGEN Characteristics

First of all, and most notably, it has a screen with a native resolution of 2560 x 1440, forming the concept of the so-called 4V holographic mode. To give you a reference of its size, the new iPhone X has dimensions of 2436 x 1125. This is a 3D system completely different from the usual well-known display. Conventional 3D displays have their visible resolution divided by the number of viewing angles. Apparently, the display of the new HYDROGEN can be viewed from any angle, horizontally and in high resolution. RED would like to point out that this device does not require glasses to enjoy 3D. For 2D mode within this device, the screen resolution is not reduced and you get the full 2560 x 1440 screen.

Another highlight is that it can shoot in 3D, on both sides of the phone. Jim Jannard, founder of the company, adds:

“4V files match the pixel resolution of a traditional 2D file, which is ideal for downloading. The perception of resolution is simply different. The horizontal resolution of 2D is now divided into layers of depth. It gives a completely different feeling. All the pixels are there … but instead of “looking” at an image, you are immersed in the image. It’s pretty spectacular. As a resolution guy, I prefer to watch 4V in 2D.”

It is a device with an approximate weight of 60 grams, slightly more than most devices. It has a 4500mA internal battery, also 30% larger than most smartphone batteries. As for sound, this device features multi-channel sound. Among other features, it has a headphone jack and dual Sim card slot (to have two phone numbers or replace one sim with a Micro SD card).
