Once again we inform you that we will be lucky enough to have the latest equipment in the next “DIT Course and…beyond downloads and dailies“, which will take place on July 13, 14 and 15 and will be taught by Daniel Perez.
Thanks to the collaboration with Panasonic, today is the turn of the VariCam 35, a powerful 4K camera with which attendees will be able to learn how to use the live color correction functions.
This is one of the two models that the company presented during the 2014 NAB (along with the VariCam HS). It features a Super 35mm MOS sensor, dual native ISO of 800 and 5000 and 14 stops of dynamic range. It has recording capabilities between 1 and 120fps in 4K resolution (4096×2160) and can capture simultaneously in multiple sizes using ProRes or AVC-Intra codecs.
One of its most interesting features is the one that will be tested during the course, the possibility of connecting to a computer wirelessly (via WiFi) to perform color corrections directly in camera and in real time. To do this, the camera is connected to a computer with live correction software, such as Pomfort‘s LiveGrade.
Rafa Roche and Luis Ochoa did a deep analysis of the VariCam 35 a few months ago, where you can read much more about its functions, possibilities and about this live correction function. Here are the links:
