Light Iron, a company specializing in on-set dailies and DI (Digital Intermediate), has reinvented its popular “Live Play” to be an iPad app that encompasses dailies and VTR review.
The new Live Play 3 comes with an intuitive user interface, with the possibility for metadata classification and distribution of dailies to the cloud.
To launch this update, the company has relied on feedback from its users. That is why the application now covers the needs of revision in the set and distribution of colored and synchronized dailies in an integrated system.
Live Play 3 has also been designed to be a creative asset management platform, allowing media to be kept centralized during the production and post-production processes.
As you can see in the introductory video, with this tool you can easily choose from tagged scenes and shooting days that will be grouped together and displayed in thumbnails. The tagging feature applies metadata tags to multiple clips at once, allowing later filtering by location, camera, actors or other custom tags.
An additional feature allows real-time streaming of the camera from remote locations.
Live Play 3 is based on 256bit TSL encryption, so dailies and their associated metadata are securely stored in a cloud hub that can be accessed by production, editing, VFX and any other collaborators.

Pricing will be tiered depending on data usage and whether you need only review or also the dailies in the cloud. This summer Light Iron will start the trial period with product demos, but in the meantime, here is all the information available.
