Mac Pro 2019: Apple’s new beast

Apple has launched its new Mac Pro and it comes loaded with power and redesign. They have presented it at WWDC and with it they want to attract all professionals. When they announced the new Mac Book Pro, they already said that it was oriented to professionals and creatives who need to work with a laptop, now they want to convince those who work on desktops of the capabilities of the Mac Pro.

It has a new exterior and interior design, and for the first time it will have an external 6K resolution monitor as a complement. Let’s start with the interior: the entire interior is completely modular, and can be easily accessed by removing the stainless steel grille that protects it. This was something that Mac Pro users had been asking for, and it seems that their requests have finally been heard. To this end, it has incorporated 8 PCIe slots so that the cards can be modified to the taste of each professional.

One of the keys of this Mac Pro 2019, is the inclusion of two Radeon Pro Vega II graphics cards, by many considered one of the most powerful graphics cards on the market. It has a capacity of 1.5 Terabytes on the hard drive, allows 28 cores thanks to Intel Xeon and to power all this, it brings a TDP of 300w.

As for the ports of the new Mac Pro 2019, we will be able to count on 2 10Gb Ethernet ports, 4 USB ports, two of them type C.

Another major highlight is Apple’s 31.6-inch monitor with 6K resolution. The LCD screen has 20 million pixels, can reach 1,000 nits and offers a contrast of 1,000,000:1. For color, it will feature high dynamic range standards and P3 at 10 bits.

The monitor comes with inputs on the back and the stand will give you the flexibility to move the monitor freely, including placing it vertically.

It is not yet on sale and no definitive release date has been confirmed, although everything points to an autumn release.
