Last week Red Giant released version 12.1 of its Magic Bullet Suite collection, with significant new support, enhancements and tools.
The highlight is support for the DaVinci Resolve color correction system, which joins other post-production software already available such as Premiere Pro, After Effects or Final Cut Pro X.
Now, within DaVinci Resolve we will be able to use four applications from the collection: Looks, Film, Cosmo and Mojo. If you are used to working with Magic Bullet you will see that Colorista, Denoiser and LUT Buddy are missing to complete the set, although it is quite logical considering that the options offered by these tools are already within Resolve itself.
In addition, the company has enhanced several existing features in two of its software products:
Magic Bullet Looks 3.1
Trackpad Mode has been added to increase the speed of corrections by using a controller.
New LUTs and Looks have been added, which provide a starting point or help us to give a general style to the image.
Colorist III 1.1
OpenCL and CUDA support is included, with Mercury Playback in Premiere Pro, enabling real-time correction and playback.
The Skin Overlay tool, which helps us to check skin tones, has been restored.
Finally, in “Cut Out” mode within the Keyer it creates a transparency layer for advanced corrections.
The upgrade to Magic Bullet Suite 12.1 is completely free for users and can be downloaded via this link or the Red Giant Link. If you don’t already have it, the full price of the suite is $799 and can be purchased here.
