Matrox releases new drivers for Adobe CS6

It seems that lately the big news is the Adobe Creative Suite CS6 collection, as all companies want to catch up bringing out supports, plugins and extensions to make their products compatible. In this case, the news comes from Matrox Video, which has just released new drivers to support CS6 Production Premium and Adobe Mercury Transmit.

Matrox Video products provide solutions for H.264 encoding acceleration, realtime editing, audio and video input/output, DVD or Blu-ray authoring, streaming, signal conversions, and capture and playout servers.

These new drivers can now be used with the Matrox MXO2 family of I/O devices and the Matrox Mojito MAX I/O board.

Common characteristics

– They have the ability to encode in H.264 up to five times faster than any software would and without compromising quality.

– They provide real-time conversion (up/down/cross) between different resolutions for capture, monitoring and output. When performing these conversions, for example from SD to HD or vice versa, the necessary changes are made to the color space and adapted with “letterbox” or “pillarbox” to maintain the aspect ratio.

– Thanks to the Matrox HDMI Calibration Utility, you can achieve high accuracy (10-bit, 4:2:2) monitor calibration, making it unnecessary to purchase a broadcast monitor to work with these editing systems. You can read more about this here.

– They can work with Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer and Adobe CS6.

– They offer support on Mac and Windows via Thunderbolt, PCIe or ExpressCard/34 connections.

Version 7.0 of the Matrox MXO2 and Mojito MAX family on Windows and version 3.1 on Mac OS can be obtained from the Matrox website and are available free of charge to registered users.

In addition, Matrox has now announced a special promotion on the price of MXO2 Mini MAX I/O, a high-speed H.264 editing and encoding device.

In this promotion you can save up to 244€, since until July 31 it will cost 512€, for PCIe or ExpressCard/34 connections, and 599€ if we want to use it with Thunderbolt.

MXO2 Mini MAX provides a set of presets and encoding profiles that allow the user to simplify this process, in addition to controls through which all parameters can be adjusted and customized.
