Matrox releases unified Mac driver

Matrox Video Products Group has announced the release of a unified Mac driver that will support Adobe, Apple, and Avid editing systems through its I/O and H.264 encoding product line.

By downloading this latest software release 3.3, the Matrox MXO2 and Matrox MXO2 MAS I/O device families, as well as the Matrox Mojito MAX board, can be used.

The MXO2 is an I/O device that offers a wide range of audio and video inputs and outputs, genlock and RS-422 machine control, increasing productivity on both Mac and PC. It also supports 5.1 or 7.1 audio monitoring and allows format conversions.

With the MXO2 MAX it is possible to do all of the above but it also boosts H.264 encoding (up to 5 times faster) for delivery to the web, mobile devices or Blu-ray.

The Mojito MAX card is a PCIe card that performs the same functions as the MXO2 MAX and adds the ability to work in captioning or s3D workflows, both on set and in post production (monitoring, dailies creation or editing of stereoscopic projects).

Key features of this update include the ability to DJ audio using Avid’s editing tools, or record voiceovers from Adobe Premiere Pro.

This driver gives Matrox users greater flexibility in using their products with software from different manufacturers. It is compatible with Mac OS Mountain Lion 10.8.2 or Lion 10.7.5 and is now available for download (free for registered customers) via this link.
