MicroSD cards break the 1TB barrier

Both Micron and SanDisk have introduced 1TB microSD cards to ensure that devices can carry a large amount of data.

If the massive 1TB lurking at the heart of Samsung’s new Galaxy S10 Plus isn’t enough for you, then both Micron and SanDisk have the answer with the launch of new microSDXC UHS-I cards from both manufacturers at MWC in Barcelona.

The SanDisk Extreme UHS-I 1TB microSD card claims to rely on parent company Western Digital’s proprietary flash technology to achieve read speeds of up to 160MBps, giving it a notable performance advantage over the new Micron c200 1TB card, which comes in at just 100MBps. Micron’s card, though writes faster; 95MBps compared to Sandisk’s reported figure of 90MBps.

It’s eye-catching news, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for updates and comments on the network. As always, if you want to learn more, feel free to check out the manufacturers’ official websites.

For my part, my adventure in 709 Media Room ends here. I say goodbye grateful for everything I have learned from my colleagues and I wish them a very promising future both here and in Sala Contraluz. See you on the net with more creations.
