MochaImport+ is a stand-alone application, successor to the After Effects tool (Mocha Import), that allows you to import and export tracking data to be applied to compositions in After Effects.
With this new version, developed by Mamoworld, creators of tools and tutorials for After Effects, it is possible to send clips directly from AE by simply pressing a button (“Track in Mocha”), including the masks and the in and out points of the clip.
Another major improvement is a new stabilization component, thanks to which “shaky” clips can be adjusted quickly and easily. When performing stabilization, you can touch certain parameters to adjust it. For example, to perform stabilization on a panorama, you can specify that all movements from left to right should be maintained, but that the vertical (up/down) movements should be eliminated.
There are also other changes that have been made to improve the workflow between After Effects and Mocha, such as the new status panel in the interface, which indicates what type of export you should do depending on the type of tracking being performed. This is because MochaImport+ supports a wide variety of tasks for tracking points or layer movement.
Here is a video that quickly explains all its features.
MochaImport+ is compatible with all versions of Mocha and After Effects since CS3. It is available for $34.99 for a single license or $349.99 for unlimited licenses. Upgrades are also available for those who already have a previous version of MochaImport. Here is the link to download the trial or purchase it, and on the same page there are several tutorials on previous versions of Mocha.
Here are also two tutorials about MochaImport+. The first one explains each of its features, from importing and exporting to stabilization. The second one explains how to make an effect to go from a girl painted on a wall to the real girl.
