MTF’s new PL mount for PL

MTF launches its new accessory for cameras, the PL mount converter.with the birth of cameras with L mount, MTF has decided to bet on this mount and launch a converter dedicated to this model.

In the last year we have witnessed how the main brands in the market launched their latest camera models, each one with its own specifications and in different categories, but often each one with a different type of mount. Optics, on the other hand, have a more difficult time adapting their models to the different types of camera mount, and this is where MTF comes into play. Thinking of optics of a very high quality and perhaps designed for cinema, these optics have PL mount, so they are incompatible with cameras such as the Panasonic S1H. Although similar, they are different markets, since it is likely that whoever has a Panasonic S1H does not have the Fujinon MK 18-55. MTF has announced their two new products that allow L mounts to have a PL converter and a special L-mount option for the Fujinon MK 18-55 lens.

The PL adapter includes an aluminum cover, with an Arca Swiss mount and wedges. They must be stiff and strong adapters for a camera as relatively small as the Panasonic S1H to be able to support the weight of lenses like the Fujinon. In these cases, as you already know, it is not the camera body that is responsible for supporting all this weight, but the other way around, it is the optics that support the weight of the camera.

We do not know exact launch date, but MTF will make the presentation at the upcoming BSC Expo 2020 and it is believed that the launch will be very close to its presentation.
