New Adobe Anywhere

During IBC 2012 Adobe announced a new platform called Adobe Anywhere, which will allow Premiere Pro, After Effects and Prelude users to work simultaneously by sharing media.

Adobe Anywhere can work with virtually any network (any Gigabit Ethernet standard), and shares both media, centralized in a single space, and metadata.

One of its biggest advantages is that, in addition, it does not need its own hardware, but simply the infrastructure we already have at our disposal, since most of the heavy lifting is done by the server. This is possible thanks to Adobe Mercury Streaming Engine, a technology that follows in the footsteps of Mercury Playback Engine (already introduced in Premiere Pro and After Effects), and scales the playback quality based on the available bandwidth. For example, an HD image can be composited using multiple layers, but playback will only show a relatively light file, which is the one sent to your computer.

Adobe Anywhere eliminates the process of transferring media from one system to another, as there is no need to duplicate media, transfer it or work with proxies. In addition, changes made to the timeline are immediately available to other users.

Here you can see all its detailed features.

In addition to Adobe Anywhere, Adobe has also announced a promotion offering users who want to switch from Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer a 30% discount for moving to CS6 Production Premium or a 40% discount for becoming a Creative Cloud member for one year.
