New Atomos Sumo recorder

The company Atomos presented during NAB its new product called Sumo, a 19″ recorder/monitor with 4K 60p HDR capabilities.

The recording options that we can find in the Sumo are quite varied, since we can choose between Raw 12 bit, ProRes or DNxHR 10bit recording, both up to 4K 60p. In case we stay in HD resolution, it is possible to reach up to 240p or record and monitor four 1080p60 signals.

The cameras compatible with this Raw or ProRes/DNxHR recording are the Sony FS5, FS7 and FS700, Canon C300MKII and C500, Varicam LT and 35 and Alexa Mini.

As we have already mentioned, its panel has 19 inches, Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and is HDR, with 1200 nit and 10 stops of dynamic range.

It has HDMI 2.0 input and output and four 3G SDI inputs.

The Sumo recorder will be available during the second half of this year and will be priced at $2,495. Here is the link to their website with all the information and specifications.
