Avid announced during NAB the new systems that will be able to use the Avid Artist Series controllers thanks to the use of the EUCON protocol. This protocol is based on Ethernet and was developed by Euphonix (formerly Avid Artist Series) in collaboration with other manufacturers to have an integration of the controllers with virtually any system.
The new collaborations with different companies will allow Avid Artist Series to be used with the latest version of Adobe Audition, for recording, editing and sound mixing; Phoenix, Digital Vision‘s image restoration and mastering system; and for Pomfort’s on-set color management tool, LiveGrade.
Currently, this EUCON protocol is supported by many more systems, in addition to those already mentioned, from manufacturers such as Autodesk, Blackmagic Design, RED and Steinberg (on both Windows and Macintosh), allowing Avid to open up to third parties.
