New ColorEdge monitors from Eizo

Eizo has announced that in less than a month (around mid-May) its new ColorEdge series monitors will go on sale.

These are two 24.1″ models called CG2420 and CS2420, with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. The ColorEdge CG2420 features a self-calibrating sensor to ensure faithful color reproduction and consistency throughout. On the other hand, the CS2420 includes many of the qualities of the ColorEdge series, but is aimed at a more “amateur” sector.

Color coverage reaches up to 99% of the Adobe RGB space, and the CG2420 can also cover 98% of the DCI-P3 color space.

Among the main differences are the contrast ratio, which is 1500:1 for the CG2420 and 1000:1 for the CS2420. In addition, the CG2420 has a digital uniformity equalizer that ensures a Delta-E of 3 or less across the entire screen, and its brightness and color are stable within 3 minutes.

Both come with ColorNavigator software, which provides a number of functions for calibration and can select from different presets for photography, printing, web design, or configure custom settings for brightness, gamma and white point, generating an ICC profile. In addition, this software is compatible with devices such as X-Rite, Datacolor and other manufacturers.

As for their design, they have a housing with a bezel that is 39% thinner than previous monitors and comes with a handle for easy carrying and a foot for height and tilt adjustment. Its switches are illuminated with LEDs for viewing in low light conditions.

They have Display Port, HDMI and DVI inputs, 3 USB 3.0 ports.
