New ECAM master’s degree in post-production coordination

The ECAM, School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid has launched a new master’s degree for the next academic year. It is a master’s degree in post-production coordination in response to the great demand for these professionals.

The audiovisual sector is undergoing a change with the arrival of new workflows and new technologies that require new professional figures. HDR, new formats, color spaces that affect the entire creative process from shooting to post-production. That is why it is very important that the figure of post-production coordination is aware and knows perfectly the most technical aspects of today and the part of the coordination of all post-production processes.

Another factor that has increased the demand for post-production coordinators is the arrival of new platforms. It is essential to know the times, needs and technical requirements, delivery formats or classification of materials. Being a profile with a double face, the more technical and coordination, it is perfect for those who come from any of the two branches and want to expand their skills to have a complete and updated training of the new needs of the sector.

The master has been designed by professionals who are currently working and is coordinated by Eladio Fernández, post-production supervisor, Beatriz Gómez Montero as post-production coordinator and a long list of professionals from different disciplines such as the director of the color and workflows department of Drago Luis Ochoa or the VFX supervisor of Twin Pines Juanma Nogales.

The master’s degree is focused from a theoretical and practical point of view so that students leave being able to control the costs and times of the processes, security and ways of sending materials, theoretical bases of post-production software, the new workflows for each type of output and coordination between editing, VFX, color and sound.
