New firmware version for the Sony FS7

Sony on Monday released firmware version 4.0 for its FS7 camera. These are the new features added:

• Support for variable point focusing.

• Support for true 24fps in XAVC-I 4K.

• Scopes improvements: It is now possible to use a waveform monitor to monitor the logarithmic signal or with a LUT applied.

• Improved ability to set the “S&Q motion” function to an assignable button.

• Items saved in “All File” do not require authentication.

• Auto knee” in “Custom” mode has been improved.

• General stability improvements.

This firmware version is free and can be installed on any camera with v3.1.
