New for Matrox Convert DVI Plus

Matrox Video, developers of digital video hardware and software, have announced news for Matrox Convert DVI Plus, an HD-SDI digitizing converter with signal mixer.

This type of converters allow easy transmission of digitized content, so they are very useful for the creation and broadcasting of video for Internet applications (such as Youtube, Google Earth or Skype), video games or for video broadcasting via cell phones. Another of its most interesting uses is that it can be used to control projectors and large screens, so it could be used for video output from systems such as DaVinci without the need to use HDMI.

These are its new features:

– Automatic input detection”: very useful for those who have to work with different devices every day. Any computer with materials at any resolution can be connected to the input, and Matrox Convert DVI Plus will automatically produce the desired output. It should be added that, of course, you have to program the output settings beforehand.

– “Graphic Overlay”: allows you to add a custom logo or any other graphic to the output, such as any PNG or TGA file. This means that if we want to add a distinctive icon, it would not be necessary to go through any other system to do so, as it can be added with this tool before the final output.

– “Snap-to-window”: thanks to this tool the user can automatically position the output region of interest. This includes possible rescaling, repositioning and panning (with real-time output). If any of these changes were to be made, the original color space and aspect ratio characteristics would still be maintained.

In addition to these new features, Matrox Convert DVI Plus continues to maintain its previous features. It is controlled from a computer via USB, although once configured it can be programmed to operate as a standalone device.

It supports video (input) up to 1920×1200 and has two output options: digital, via HD/SD-SDI; or analog, HD/SD. There is also the possibility of simultaneous digital and analog video output.

Stereo audio can be embedded in the SDI signal output.

It also has more advanced features such as anti-flicker filter, password protection or pixel compensation.
