ActiveText is the new free plugin from CoreMelt; a collection of ten plugins for titling in the Premiere Pro editor.
It is aimed at editors who have recently switched to Premiere or who will be working on documentary-style projects, sports, weddings or any other type of event. In this case, they will find it much easier to eliminate some repetitive processes and simplify some tasks.
CoreMelt has also indicated that its product is intended to remedy recent complaints about the limitations of Premiere’s titling tool, and says that other users will therefore find it helpful as well. It can also be very useful for inserting subtitles.
ActiveText works by reusing similar titles, including animations, without having to leave the Premiere timeline.
One of its advantages is the possibility of duplicating a title by simply “copy-pasting” it into the timeline and modifying its text from there, without having to enter the title editor. Moreover, its animated templates make it unnecessary to add keyframes, as they automatically adjust to the duration of the clip.
ActiveText is compatible with Mac OS X (10.6.8 or higher) and the following software:
– Adobe Premiere Pro: from CS4.
– Final Cut Pro 7.
– Adobe After Effects: from CS3.
– Motion.
You can download it from here. In addition to the free plugins, CoreMelt also has a paid version ($199) that includes 200 plugins for editing, compositing, design and visual effects called CoreMelt Complete V2, which you can purchase from the same page.
