From 709 Media Room we bring you the latest news of DaVinci Resolve 16. It will be natively integrated in this new version with Frame.io.
Frame.io is a very powerful collaboration platform where you can upload and playback your project images and share them with the rest of the production team or clients. This integration is an important step forward for the development of workflows in DaVinci Resolve, software that is potentially used as a conforming tool and needed this kind of communication.
So far they have been supporting its integration into major advanced editing tools, including Premiere Pro and After Effects; already last fall, they introduced a new workflow extension integrated into Final Cut Pro X in partnership with Apple.
With Frame.io in DaVinci Resolve 16, you’ll have access to all of your Frame.io accounts, computers, projects and folders in the DaVinci Resolve Media tab immediately after logging in. Any Frame.io clips you add to the media pool are automatically downloaded for use in the project you are working on, and you can even start editing while the full resolution file is downloading in the background. Resolve will automatically switch the proxy with the full resolution file.
Comments, responses and annotations in Frame.io are automatically synced to the DaVinci Resolve timeline, no need to import or export. If you leave a comment on the timeline in DaVinci Resolve, other collaborators will see it in Frame.io. If they respond to your comment, their response will be displayed as a marker on the timeline.
Entire timelines, or sections of them, can be processed, batch loaded and synchronized at the same time in Frame.io with ease. Everything happens automatically when exporting the timeline. No further action is needed.
The beta version of DaVinci Resolve 16 is now available with the new feature of integrating frame.io into your website.
