Red Giant has updated its Magic Bullet Suite of tools with the release of version 11.4.2, which features a speed increase in Denoiser II and fixes for certain product issues.
Magic Bullet Denoiser II v1.4
With it comes the biggest novelty of this update, and it is due to the speed increase generated by a completely improved engine that works with graphics cards compatible with OpenCL 1.1. From Red Giant say that their tests have shown that Denoiser works 3 or 4 times faster using the GPU, although it can still run from the CPU (in the case of not having a card with these features).
Stability and reliability improvements and support for interlaced material to be treated correctly in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects have also been added.
One of the drawbacks of the development of this update is that Red Giant has been forced to drop support for Adobe CS4 products, so its users will have to remain on Denoiser II v1.3, which can still be found in the 32-bit Windows installer. OSX users will have to use version 11.4.1 of their installer.
In this page you have all the available details about the new version of Denoiser, including the graphics cards it supports.
Magic Bullet Looks 2.0.9
In Magic Bullet Looks we have been looking for solutions to the errors that arose when working on Retina displays.
The first of these addresses a problem with the mouse pointer jumping to the upper right corner of the screen when editing the value of controls in any of the added tools. The second and final change affects Final Cut Pro X users, making the tool overlay properly sized and readable when applying a Look.
Red Giant warns us that the problem with the rendering in FCP X, which has been previously mentioned, has not been solved yet.
Magic Bullet Colorista II 1.0.6
The only change we can find here will be working with Premiere Pro CS6, where an incorrect frame will no longer be imported when using the secondary keyer.
Magic Bullet PhotoLooks 2.0
And finally, in PhotoLooks a bug has been fixed in the Windows installer, making it impossible to launch LooksBuilder from Adobe Lightroom when running from 64-bit Windows versions.
Those of you who are already Magic Bullet Suite users can download the 11.4.2 update for free from this link. You can also access the trial version here.
