We continue the course of the week telling you about the news that Blackmagic Design surprised us with a few days ago. Today to tell you a little about the two new controllers called Micro Panel and Mini Panel.
The company demonstrates with these releases that one of its objectives continues to be to reach as many users as possible, and in the same way, that these users can approach its products in an affordable way, without the need to count on the prices of studios or large rooms.
DaVinci Resolve Micro is a compact controller, designed to be placed on the desktop, next to the keyboard, and thus combine both devices depending on the tasks we are performing, such as editing or color grading.
On the other hand we have the Mini Panel, which is a bit more advanced than its Micro companion, adding two 5-inch liquid crystal displays with dozens of menus that make it possible to access DaVinci Resolve system functions.
Both controllers have professional precision dials and 12 knobs, used to adjust luminance, contrast, highlights, mids, shadows, saturation, etc. The Micro Panel has 18 buttons, while the Mini has 33 buttons, 8 knobs and 8 customizable buttons.
The design is machined aluminum and the organization of the functions is similar to that of the large DaVinci controller (DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel). The Micro connection is USB C (although Blackmagic provides a converter for UDB 3) and for the Mini we have USB C and Ethernet.
Both models are available now through Blackmagic resellers. The Micro Panel is priced at $995, and the Mini Panel at $2995. Here is a link with all the information about these two controllers.
