Panasonic has announced the addition of the AK-UC4000 studio camera to its lineup of cameras. Panasonic UC4000 uses LSSIEL optics with Panasonic’s new, larger and more advanced 35mm, capturing 4.4K native resolution. It improves the UHD resolution (over 2000 TV lines, both horizontal and vertical), dynamic range and S/N ratio (62dB) UC3000. It maintains the same compatibility and performance of the broadcast lens and keeps the same form factor of the camera.

The UC4000 will be compatible with the same accessories as the UC3000 and HC5000 cameras, including: the AK-HVF100 studio viewfinder; AK-HRP1000 camera controllers, among others.

“The UC4000’s new 4.4K camera oversampling helps sports production teams avoid potential moiré issues caused by ubiquitous LED displays.”

Michael Bergeron, product manager, Studio Systems cameras, Panasonic Media and Entertainment Company.

New Camera Control Unit AK-UCU600

The new AK-UCU600 camera control unit provides power up to 6600 feet over hybrid fiber and has the same form factor and all the powerful features of the existing AK-UCU500 CCU, including: simultaneous multi-format output with simultaneous 4K, 1080p and HD outputs possible; simultaneous HDR and SDR output with HDR / SDR compensation adjustment to enable SDR shading of HDR content; multiple data and video trunk lines and IP control; and compact 2U design.

The house of Panasonic, with this new model, hopes to attract live sports productions and high-end event broadcasts as customers, with potential clients including professional sports broadcasters and production rental companies, or stadium and venue owners.

From March 2018 the products will be available, both the AK-UC4000 and AK-UCU600 CCU camera. Suggested prices are $40,000 and $20,000, respectively.
