Lovers of VariCam cameras will be happy to know that Panasonic has developed a new model called Pure, which will hit the market (we don’t know when yet) to be installed alongside the existing VariCam 35, LT and HS.
At the moment there are not many details that we know about this camera, but we can tell you that it has a modular design and that it has been created thanks to the joint work between Panasonic and Codex.
The combination of these two companies’ products had already been tested with the VariCam 35 and the Codex V-RAW recorder, but now they have decided to go one step further with the production of a fully integrated “RAW-only” camera. It appears to be a combination of the AU-V35C1G s35mm 4K camera and the new Codex VRAW 2.0 recorder. The result is a smaller model capable of capturing RAW in 4K at 120fps.
Surely in a few days, during the IBC in Amsterdam, we will know more about the new VariCam Pure.
