New Sony FE 35mm f1.8 lens arrives in August

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Sony has announced that its latest FE 35mm f1.8 wide-angle lens for full frame sensors will be released in August. A very bright E-mount lens that is sure to perfectly suit the needs of photographers and filmmakers.

This lens is not only very bright, but also has very good autofocus for focus tracking on moving shots and is very quiet.

Although the lens is designed for full-frame sensors, it is compatible with APS-C sensors. The focal lengths vary depending on whether the camera sensor is full frame or not and we can obtain focal lengths of 35 or 52mm.

The image quality does not vary even at the edges of the frame, in Sony’s words: “exceptional image quality from corner to corner with a maximum aperture of 1.8”. This image quality has been achieved thanks to the intelligent optical structure that features an aspherical element to eliminate aberration at the edges of the image and obtain a high-resolution result equally throughout the frame. It is composed of nine blades to achieve the beautiful bokeh so sought after by photographers and video makers.

Sony’s main wide-angle lens is 65.6mm in diameter and 73mm long, making it quite handy and optimal for jobs where ease and portability are sought, as it weighs no more than 280 grams.

Autofocus and focus tracking were one of the strengths of this lens, and through the focus hold button, we can customize it. Let’s not forget the manual focus mode, it is smooth and sensitive to adjust the focus accurately and without abruptness.

It will go on sale in August for $750.
