New TrueBlue filter for RED cameras

Mojo Media Solutions and Achtel have teamed up to launch TrueBlue, an optical filter that improves blue color separation to avoid red pollution in RED cameras.

This filter has been custom designed by scientist and cinematographer Pawel Achtel MSc, who has combined his knowledge of mathematics and optics to significantly reduce the magenta appearance of blues in camera.

The problem is easily recognizable in blue chromas, skies or underwater shots, and is due to the fact that the red photosites of the sensor are also sensitive to blue light. Adding the TrueBlue filter would solve this problem and preserve the original tones from shooting(see the full technical explanationhere ).

TrueBlue is available through Mojo Media Solutions, for the Red Epic and Red Dragon cameras and comes as a complete kit along with an OLPF (optical low-pass filter).
