Imagineer Systems has developed an update for its tracking and rotoscoping software mocha AE and mocha Pro, which now reach version 3.2.
Among the features highlighted by the company are keyboard and global character support, with the Unicode standard supported, as well as the possibility of projects, material, layer names and file paths in any language.
In addition to this, a number of problems that existed in previous versions have been fixed. For example, users who are working with the Mountain Lion (OS X) operating system will no longer suffer from license deactivation.
Tracking export has been improved, solving the problems that occurred with stabilized and inverted tracking, as well as in interlaced projects for After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
As for After Effects, its 3D track import plugin has been updated (v1.1) and the “3D Camera” exporter is now able to export “Nulls” with precise names and identifiers for this system and FBX for Nuke, C4D and more.
This update is available from here for all users with already registered Mac OS X, Windows (32/64-bit) and Linux licenses. It will work with mocha Pro and mocha AE 3.x licenses.
Users who are using the Adobe package that includes mocha AE CS6 or mocha AE CC will not need to upgrade, as the changes will only be made through Adobe Creative Cloud. More information on how mocha AE will work after switching to Creative Cloud can be found on this page.
And if you still don’t have either of these two software, you can buy them or try them out from their official pages: mocha Pro ($495) / mocha AE ($195). The main difference between both is that mocha Pro has a set of advanced modules for tracking, lens distortion, rotoscoping and 3D Camera; as well as a wider support of systems than mocha AE, among which we find Final Cut Pro and Motion, After Effects, Avid, Scratch, Autodesk Flame and Smoke, Boris FX, Fusion, Nuke, Quantel or Red Giant Warp. On this page you can see all the differences between the different models specified.
