New Zeiss camera now available for pre-order

Zeiss has finally given the green light to its full-frame compact camera Zeiss ZX1. Rumors about the launch of Zeiss’ first compact camera began more than a year ago, and now it’s safe to say that the rumors have come true and it’s available for pre-order.

The new Zeiss ZX1 enters the world of compact cameras with Android as operating system, and with the idea of instantaneity and creativity for a fluid handling when creating. They emphasize the continuous and fluid creative process by being designed to operate it quickly, easily and smoothly, and for editing and publishing by having Lightroom CC preinstalled on the camera.

In terms of technical aspects, it has a 24x36mm CMOS sensor with 39.5 MP total, of which 37.4MP are effective. The lens, in this case is a 35mm f/2 fixed lens with a diaphragm variation up to f/22. The ISO is also variable from 80 ISO to 51200 ISO. Making it versatile for any light condition. It has an autofocus system with contrast and phase detection, among other options alternating between manual and automatic focus and complements to improve focus such as peaking.

Zeiss ZX1 is no slouch and offers 4K video recording at 30 frames per second and with the option of H.265 format for subsequent publication. Full HD allows recording at 60 fps. For photography it has RAW/DNG or JPEG format of 7488×4992.

It has 3 storage and connection options, one via USB-C, another with 512 GB SSD internal memory and NAS access with SMB protocol and wifi access, SUB-C and USB 3.1 ports.

Following the news revealed by B&H Photo, the new Zeiss ZX1 will soon be available for sale for just over 5,000 euros, although you can start pre-ordering the first units now.
