NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 the fastest lens from Nikon

Nikon launches its new high quality lens, the Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S NOCT. Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S NOCT and at the same time the fastest lens of the Japanese brand.

It is the superior model to the previous model launched by Nikon, the Nikkor Z 58mm f/1.2, but the new model can boast higher performance, quality and highlights the potential of Nikon’s Z mount. A flagship lens, the brand claims, with which users will be able to achieve ” extreme sharpness that excels in the hands of a creator.”

The new prime lens boasts optimal performance for portraits, landscapes and even astrophotography. The fact that it has an ultra-wide-angle f0.95 aperture makes it one of Nikon’ s brightest lenses and opens up new low-light photography and video capabilities.

The lens structure also aids its brightness and speed. The Nikkor Z 58MM S NOCT is part of the S-Line family, a set of high-end Nikon optics consisting of a large aspherical lens element and also features a very thin glass capable of providing extreme precision. The optical formula that makes up this lens consists of 17 elements distributed in 10 groups, which provides great balance and sharpness.

The electromagnetic diaphragm is composed of 11 blades, which, together with the large aperture, allows for a comprehensive control of the depth of field and results in an “exquisite bokeh effect”.

The new model of the Z family also includes the ARNEO anti-reflective system, which eliminates flare and vertical incident light reaching the lens surface. Diagonal incident light is taken care of by the second anti-reflective system, Nano Crystal. The result of these two systems is ghost-free images.

Nikon has included an OLED-type panel on the outside of the lens to provide users with informationon aperture, focal length and depth of field. It also includes a control ring from which different functions such as aperture and exposure compensation can be accessed. The Fn button is also assignable and accepts up to 17 functionalities.

We won’t have to wait long to enjoy the Nikkor Z 85mm f 0.95 S NOCT as it will be released at the end of October. The price, which is not yet certain, will be around €9,000.
