Foundry updated its Nuke compositing software to v11.3 this week, offering enhancements to the Live Groups feature for collaborative workflow, an optimized particle system, and new stereo and VR workflow options.
Nuke 11.3
The headline feature this time around appears to be enhancements to Live Groups, a collaboration feature introduced in Nuke 11 to improve team-based workflow in compositions tackled by multiple artists. New elements on that front include Python hooks and UI notifications designed to offer more control over the process.
The NukeX particle system now simulates up to six times faster than previous versions, accelerating playback up to four times faster. This will be useful as artists will replay particle systems to dial in desired effects, and the new APIs should be external developers have access to similar performance gains.
Timeline Multiview allows artists to extend the same multi-file stereo workflow supported by Nuke to Nuke Studio, Hiero and HieroPlayer, including the ability to create Nuke multiview scripts from Nuke Studio and Hiero. An option for full resolution stereo playback via monitor output has been added, as well as a new export preset for stereo rendering of projects.
Some user interface adjustments have also been implemented, including prompts related to bounding box and channel size that are designed to help troubleshoot problems and performance bottlenecks. The selection tool, marquee and lasso tools have also been used for Foundry use, which is now available to constrain rectangular or elliptical drawings to squares or circles.
Of course you can find more information, as always, in the official pages and in the following link.
