Since the latest release of the Apple company – the new iMac Pro that we told you about a few weeks ago – many of the professional software have struggled to adapt quickly to the capabilities of this new equipment. Among them the house of Avid has not wanted to be left behind and has developed the performance of its tool Avid Pro Tools, to offer the best possible version of Pro Tools 12.8.3.
What’s New in Avid Pro Tools
Among the new features available, playback performance will be much higher, along with the ability to use a greater number of native AAX plug-ins. We should note that the processor of the new Apple product is capable of running 36% more plug-ins on an iMac Pro 8-Core model and up to 62% more plug-ins on an iMac Pro 10-Core model. At the same time, the Avid company assures that this new version will increase the number of possibilities of effects and virtual instruments.
Therefore, Avid Pro Tools is now compatible with macOS High Sierra 10.13.2. Users running macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 should update to version 10.13.2 before installing Pro Tools 12.8.3, due to issues in the installer. Given the confusion that has arisen – as to whether there is support for Avid audio interface drivers with macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 – we recommend you visit the Avid home page before updating the program.
Finally, we would like to remind you that the dates are getting closer for the in-person course on codecs, formats and HD and 4k workflows. Don’t forget to reserve your place.
