Quantel has again released a major software update, the eighth in a year’s time, for its Pablo Rio color correction system and Pablo PA conform and prep software.
This version focuses on the integration of all post-production stages, introducing important improvements related to editing systems and the latest cameras.
Apple ProRes
The new feature that has been highlighted the most is the ability to import and export Apple ProRes 422. Although it is being advertised as such, it includes import of ProRes 422 and encoding of the entire family: ProRes 4444, ProRes 422 (HQ), ProRes 422, ProRes 422, ProRes 422 (LT) and Prores 422 (Proxy).
Avid
Another great news is that from now on Avid DVE metadata will be supported in conform. This means that any DVE images with flips, flops, resizes or rotations that have been made during editing in Avid will be passed directly to Pablo Rio and Pablo PA in the same way.
Sony and RED
New formats are also added with support for DRAGONcolor and REDgamma4, through the latest RED V5.0 SDK, and XAVC 4K export.
New functions
This version also includes functions to simplify operations and increase the speed of daily tasks.
- Mocha Tracker DVE Homography: ability to track an object and set this data in a changing form.
- Blur normalization: automatically takes into account the resolution of an image when applying softness or blur.
- Single button access to the Multilayer timeline from the Neo Nano controller.
Version 2.0 rev9 for Pablo Rio and Pablo PA is now available. We remind you that if you want to learn color correction you can not miss this opportunity on June 16.
