Panasonic has just announced the launch of its upcoming camera Lumix BGH1a box-style camera with C4K/4K 60p/50p and unlimited 10-bit recording capability. A return to the LUMIX GH series cameras, now more versatile and with more possibilities.
The new DC-BGH1 thus becomes the first Lumix mirrorless digital camera with this format. They have opted for the Micro Four Thirds system to give it more mobility and a wider range of compatible lenses.
Designed, from the experience in the development of film cameras, DSLR and camcorders, for streaming recordings thanks to its easy installation and the possibility of working in multi-camera format.
The new Panasonic model features a 10.2 megapixel Live MOS sensor and includes the dual native ISO system for higher sensitivity. We can work at 51200 ISO maximum and minimize noise generation.
Video recording options are multiple, but internal 10-bit recording with 4:2:0 C4K/4K sampling at 60 60p/50p is worth mentioning. For 4K output in 4:2:2:2 at 10-bit, an HDMI output is required. It has different gamma curves, compatible with ITU-R BT.2100. It includes V-Log L with which 13 steps of dynamic range are obtained. They have also included H.265 recording for HLG. Recording options also include slow and fast motion recording in C4K/4K with 2fps being the minimum frame rate in fast motion.
It is capable of detecting eyes, face, body and head individually even in sudden movements or with its back to the camera thanks to the advanced learning technology in the Lumix BGH1. It also tracks moving animals, including birds and cats.
The new camera body design allows unlimited recordings with the new heat dispersion system. The body is made of aluminum and magnesium alloy making it lighter and more durable.
The launch date is scheduled for mid-November, although there is still no exact date or price.
