Photometry course in video and digital cinema October 2013

falsecolor

Until now in digital video it seemed that the only valid tool to evaluate exposure was the waveform monitor, leaving behind past instruments. However, since the incursion of raw video, other tools have appeared, such as false color, which also help in the work of exposure. This, together with the recent incursion of light meters that allow loading digital cinema gamma curves, has changed the way of moving and evaluating light on set.

This course on photometry in video and digital cinema will cover all the tools currently available to the cinematographer: from the waveform to the photometer, from the histogram to Red’s HDRx and will explain which are the most appropriate according to the type of shooting to be carried out: raw, log, linear, etc.
